PPD Print of the Month (POM): December 2012

Chor-Yin George Chan, of Kingsbury, Australia, wins for the second time this contest year with his first place Star Mono image Wet and Cold. Our judge, John Craig, tells us why:

"Just looking at this image makes me feel wet and cold. For me, the bird's misery is evidenced by the wings and head slumped down, a drop of rain hanging onto the bill, and the expression in the eye. I appreciate the maker including the pine needle branches above the birds that offer no protection from the persistent rain. I believe the soft gray tonal range of the image reinforces the image's story."
