Recognition of Service

PSA Society Recognition Awards

Society Recognition
Awards Committee Chair

There are seven society awards that recognize PSA members for their contribution to photography and to PSA. They are presented during the Opening Meeting of the PSA Annual Conference.

The recipients of these awards are selected by the Society Recognition Awards Committee that is composed of five PSA members who serve five-year terms. The President appoints one member each year and the most senior member of the Committee is the Chair. The Society Recognition Awards Committee Chair reports to the Executive Vice President.

Submitting a Proposal: Deadline: March 1

Each nomination must have a statement from the proposer and two endorsers, each of whom must be PSA members. A proposer may not propose a candidate for more than one award in the same year.

The proposer and endorsers must be Society members in good standing and must personally know the candidate through close association for a reasonable length of time. They must be able to confirm, from their own knowledge, the pertinent facts submitted as evidence of the worthiness of the candidate. They are required to attest to these facts.

Each PSA Society Recognition Awards has its own proposal form, available as a Word doc, pdf, and interactive pdf (Adobe Acrobat Pro required).  Once completed, the proposal pages are combined by the Proposer and submitted to the Society Recognition Awards Committee Chair via email. Word docs can be downloaded, printed, filled in, and mailed to the Committee Chair at: Tom Icklan, APSA, 18 Donatello Dr., Manchester, NJ  08759.
