3D Star Ratings
The 3D Star Ratings Program was inaugurated to provide recognition based solely and exclusively on photographic ability. Star Ratings are earned by PSA members on the basis of acceptances received in PSA-recognized 3D Division exhibitions through exhibiting or judging. For additional information or help with applications for 3D Star Ratings, please contact the Director.
Acceptances used for any star beyond the first star must be earned during the time you are a PSA member. A copy of the member's PSA membership card should be sent with the Star Rating application.
PSA-recognized exhibitions are listed in the Exhibition Section of each issue of the PSA Journal under the column headed 3D.
Judging: One judge judging more than two 3D sections at an exhibition is only allowed credits for two sections. Prior to May 1, 2001, 3 credits are allowed per section. After May 1, 2001, 3 acceptances per section if no more than 3 members on the panel; 2 acceptances if 4 or 5 on panel; 1 acceptance if 6-10 on panel. Acceptances are not allowed if more than 10 on judging panel. Judging credits cannot exceed 10% of the acceptance credits, or 25, whichever is lower.
Beginning November 1, 2011, the fee for processing each Star Rating is $8.00. This $8.00 fee applies for those living in North America and those living outside North America. This policy is not retroactive; that is, fees already submitted with Star Ratings applications will not be changed. Cash or checks drawn on US banks are acceptable made out to PSA.
