MPSA Gallery: William B. Barnett, MPSA
Bill’s interest in photography started in high school, but really developed after he finished graduate school, moved to Connecticut, and joined his first camera club in 1969. He joined PSA in 1970 and started entering exhibitions soon after. Bill now has five stars in five PSA divisions plus a number of galaxies in addition to numerous awards in local competitions. Bill received the distinction of Master from PSA (MPSA) in 2011, the distinction of Artiste from the Federation Internationale de L’art Photographique (AFIAP), and has been awarded the honor of Master Member by the New England Camera Club Council (MNEC). Bill has also received two Bronze Stars for contributions to the PSA Journal.
Bill is a member of the New Haven Camera Club and the Connecticut Association of Photographers. He is on the Executive Board of the New England Camera Club Council. He is a frequent lecturer and judge for camera clubs in New England.
Bill shifted his picture taking from film to digital following a trip to Kenya in 2000 where he shot his last photographs on film. That switch has allowed him to expand the creative possibilities of his photography. Bill likes to combine photography with travel to interesting places.
