Photojournalism Division (PJD): Quarterly Competition
There are two groups, one for the less experienced (two stars or less) and the second group for the more experienced (more than two stars) group. Each group has a General and a Themed category. That means each person will have the opportunity to enter up to eight new images: four in the General and four in the Themed category for the quarter.
Eligibility & Rules
Definition: Photojournalism entries shall consist of images or sequences of images with informative content and emotional impact, including human interest, documentary and spot news. The journalistic value of the image shall receive priority over pictorial quality. In the interest of credibility, images that misrepresent the truth and model or staged set-ups are not permitted. Techniques that add to, relocate, replace or remove any element of the original image, except by cropping, are not permitted. Techniques that enhance the presentation of the image, without changing the photojournalism content, are permitted. All adjustments must appear natural.
In order to help promote new work, this activity is for images that have never been accepted into a PSA-recognized exhibition.
