Eligibility

All images by a PSA member that have received a PSA Gold Medal: Best of Show in an Open section of a PSA-recognized PTD Exhibition during the previous calendar year are eligible for this free Image of the Year competition. The Best of Show winners in any special sections (themes) of a PSA-recognized Exhibition are not eligible for the Image of the Year Competition. Both slides and digital images are eligible. All slide entries must be scanned and submitted as a digital image.

All eligible entrants will receive an email invitation from the PTD Image of the Year Director. This invitation will list the titles of the photos the member has that are eligible. Additionally, there will be instructions regarding how and where to enter online.

Entries for each calendar year of Exhibitions are due by July 1 of the following year and will be judged prior to the PSA Annual Conference. Images are not to be submitted prior to receiving the invitation entry instructions from the Director.

Awards

An award plaque is presented to the image judged to be the Image of the Year. The plaque awarded includes the member’s name, the title of their winning image, the award name, and year of the award.

The winning image is shown at the PSA Annual Conference, displayed on the PSA web site, and published in the PSA Journal. The Award is presented to the winner, if present, at the PTD Luncheon at the PSA Annual Conference. The Image of the Year award is mailed if the recipient cannot attend the Conference.
