As Chair of PSA’s Photo Travel Division (PTD), I want to welcome and thank you for visiting our home page. If you have an interest in building your skills as a travel photographer, obtaining educational resources and competition opportunities for travel images, and promoting fellowship and understanding among photographers worldwide, you should find a number of opportunities that would increase your experience and enhance your skills as well as providing additional enjoyment of this photographic medium.

For example, we conduct a number of study groups that have 3 to 7 members interacting with each other as they review and comment upon each other’s digital images. The Travelette and Image of the Year Competition are some of our offerings for individual members. Interclub competitions are held three times each year. We also conduct two sections of the annual PSA International Exhibition and we recognize a large number of international exhibitions each year so that our members can apply for Stars.

A Photo Travel image must express the feeling of a time and place, and portray a land, its distinctive features or culture in its natural state. There are no geographical limitations. Closeup pictures of people or objects must include distinguishable environment. Techniques that add to, relocate, replace or remove any element of the original image, except by cropping, are not permitted. All adjustments must appear natural. Conversion to full monochrome is acceptable. Derivations, including infrared, are unacceptable.

PSA members qualify for membership in the Photo Travel Division (PTD) by: holding a past or present PTD elected Office, being the Director of an activity in the PTD, earning a Star Rating in the PTD, participating in the Travelette Competition in the PTD, or participating in a Study Group in the PTD.

If you have any questions or wish additional information, please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you! - George Bebout, APSA
