PORTRAIT-GRAY_DANA-175.jpgI enjoy shooting nature and outdoor scenes--anything from animal close-ups to sweeping landscapes. I love to hike and capture new places as well as local favorites. My love for photography began only a few years back in 2007 when I received my first DSLR.

As a researcher by training, photography has become an extra set of eyes for me as I explore the beautiful mountain state of West Virginia where I live. I never have to look very far for inspiration. My current goals in photography are to learn techniques in capturing birds, especially those in flight, as well as developing a better understanding on how to capture wide DOF landscapes in a way that communicate a story to the viewer.

Currently I shoot with a Nikon D90 body. My limited len set includes a 50mm f/1.8, a 18-105mm f/3.5 and a 70-300mm f/4.5. I shoot in RAW and process using Lightroom 3. I also utilize NIK software during my final edit on some of my shots.
