Each club may enter four prints by four different makers in our competitions in each of the following 5 categories: Large Color, Large Monochrome, Small Color, Small Monochrome and Creative.  That’s a maximum of 20 prints each time when you enter all categories. You can even make a partial entry if you don’t have four prints in a category. If for some reason your club was not able to submit prints in a competition, you can enter them the next time as long as they are marked "make up."

Clubs take turns hosting the competitions. The club selects three judges who score the prints on the basis of interest, composition, and technique. The judges assign 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places, as well as one or more honorable mentions.

Prints which receive a 1st, 2nd, or 3rd place in one of the four yearly competitions may be entered in the year-end competition. Here, the top prints in each category are selected. These top prints are awarded PPD Gold Medals for first, Silver for second, bronze for 3^rd and ribbons for HMs. Clubs with the highest total scores in each of the five categories during the year also receive Certificates.
