This is an Activity of the CPID exclusively for Creative Photography. The current PSA definition of Creative is "Altered Reality ".
The original image must be made by the entrant on photographic emulsion or acquired digitally. All images must be original and may not incorporate elements produced by anyone else. Images may be altered by the maker, and artwork or computer graphics created by the entrant may be incorporated, if the photographic content predominates. Images may not be constructed entirely within a computer. . Remember the core image of the photo should be identifiable. Non-creative images are not eligible for this competition. Any subject matter is acceptable as long as the Altered Reality, guideline is apparent in the image
All the entries must be either digital or traditional in any one competition. You cannot submit, for instance, 2 digital and 4 traditional in the same competition. But if your club chooses you may enter all traditional slides in one competition and then all digital in the next competition.
There are three competitions per season. For this Season (2009-2010), the competitions will be held in November, Feb and May. Each Club is allowed to enter a maximum of 6 images with no more than 2 from any individual member. Images will be chosen for 1st and 2nd place and about 30% receive Honorable Mentions. At the end of the year we have a Best of the Best run off show. All the HM and Awards are entitled to go into this show. There is then Awards for the Best of the Best. Ribbons are Given for these Awards.
